Mais j'aime beaucoup "Hurt", sa voix rend vraiment trés bien dans ce style =)

La chanson Hurt de Nine Inch Nails reprise par Cash est un pure délice

J'adore ce gars, je le connais depuis un ptit temps maintenant. J'ai decouvert grace a un pot un best of de 10 chansons. J'ai pas accroché de suite, j'etais pas habitué a ce genre de son assez vieux et different de ce que je connaissais a l'epoque. Depuis j'ai appris a aimer (assez vite) et faut dire que ses creations sont genial. J'ai reussit a trouvé d'autre album et surtout un best of plus complet : The legend of Johnny Cash. J'adore tout simplement ^^

Oui je vous conseille vraiment ce film, il m'a appris quelques petits trucs que je ne savaient pas sur lui et la BO est superbe, evidemment

Ma chanson préféré est pas très originale c'est "Folson Prison Blues" mais elle a quelque chose que ses autres morceaux n'ont pas.

Il a une voix qui prend aux tripes ...
Pour l'entendre, je suis prête à écouter de la country.

Bof. En dehors de ses classiques, j'trouve ça assez répétitif.

Rah mais Johnny Cash, le vrai son de la country ! Une voix profonde, et sa country...t'avais vraiment l'impression de voir le "poor lonesome cowboy" sur la route avec pour seul compagnon sa bouteille de whiskey. C'est comme ça que la country doit sonner ! C'est mélancolique et très profond, c'est pas un truc joyeux ou tu danses dessus comme un con ! La country était une musique de hors-la-loi à l'époque, et c'est comme ça qu'elle reste divine, et c'est comme ça que l'homme en noir la jouait !

J'suis totalement fan de ce mec. Une voix profonde comme on en fait plus, des chansons qui sont superbe. Et NON ça ne tourne pas en rond, du moins quand on s'intéresse à sa discographie, certes étoffée (voir plus bas) : on passe de country pure des années 50-60 à du rockabilly (notamment l'album rockabilly blues), du gospel sur certains album et les american recordings sortis récemment qui expérimentent de nouveaux horizons mélancoliques, coïncidant avec sa vieillesse et fin de vie.

Dans ses derniers albums (de son vivant), j'avais adoré celui-ci :American IV: The Man Comes Around.

Mwahahaha, j'l'adore ce gars. Sûrement le chanteur qui a le plus bercé mes oreilles quand j'étais gosse.

Sinon, c'est pas forcément ses titres les plus connus que je préfère, mais Don't take your guns to town, alala, j'ai du l'écouter des centaines de fois. Très courte, mais la brève histoire de ce cowboy est toujours aussi touchante. Après, j'aime ses classiques, mais aussi ses American Recordings (alala, je peux pas m'empêcher de préférer sa version de Personal Jesus à celle de Depeche Mode...)

Mais les American recordings sont vraiment le reflet et l'apogée de sa carrière!
Y'a rien de mieux pour appréhender son oeuvre je trouve (parce que 150 sorties au moins c'est un peu chaud aha)

Sinon on a quand même quelque skeuds variés dans ses archives : Orange blossom special et ses airs de cowboys, l'ovni Rockabilly blues, les narration sur Ride this train...

Bah c'est clair que les AR sont excellents. De toute façon, pour être capable de faire des reprises comme ça (qui dépassent parfois même l'original à mon goût), faut avoir de la bouteille et surtout une sacrée caboche musicalifique.

Eh oui, mais c'est ça qui fait la force de Cash je trouve. Il s'est aventuré dans plusieurs déclinaisons, mais personnellement, j'ai toujours eu du plaisir à chaque disque que j'ai pu écouter (bon, j'ai du en écouter le tiers). Même si j'ai une ch'tite préférence pour sa période plus country, c'est vraiment un style qui me fait bien gigoter, et ses premiers CDs. Plus je remonte dans sa carrière, plus l'impression de grandeur du sieur se fait imposante.
